no spark from coil. please help

hello- I have a big problem with my 470 mercruiser, I know who doesn,t?? well ladt summer i knew i had to do a head gasket job, so over the winter I tore her down and redid all the gaskets and seals and cleaned every thing I could clean.
When i put her back together and turned the key, I had no spark at my plugs. I checked and replaced the coil, and I have power getting to my coil, but nothing coming out the top of the coil to my plugs.
Can nayone point me in the right direction???????cal

Another good coil replaced.

As with about 95% of the cases of no spark on points ignition, you probably need a set of points, not a coil.

Since you tore her down for your repairs, you may want to check the shift interruptor switch adjustment. I had a problem like this once, and the switch being out of adjustment, would not allow the proper connection to the minus (-) side of the coil.
