no spark 2001 merc 25

I`m working on a 2001 merc electric/pull start tiller 25hp. No spark on both cylinders. I was told to pull a black and yellow wire to see if spark came back. Still no spark what should be my next step. This is the the first merc in a long time i`ve worked on? none of the wires looked worn out or broken.

to resat everything u need to un hook the battery than un hook the wires i`ve lost my notes from a long time ago

now if i hook up my remote starter can that elimiteate the stator
