I just got back fro DC. I was a chaperon for the 7th and 8th grade class at St Johns here in Burlington. Let me tell you, MONEY was flowing wildly at all the food courts, tours, gift shops, ect. Now I know why Washington thinks it can tax us anything it wants, lunch for two in the Smithsonian was $40.00. My son had a piece not the whole thing, a piece and a soda and a fry order, I had a chicken leg attached to a thigh, fries, soda oh and we each had a desert. So they probably figure if we are so stupid to pay that much for lunch, and let me tell you we had to wait in a long line to do so, why not tax the daylights out of us. a great trip for the kids though expensive as hell for the adults. An adult beverage for after we settled them down was 8.00 a beer was 7.00 WOW Not used to that being here in the Midwest.
