HELP... I own a 1988 Bayliner Capri 2.3L Ford I/O with a OMC Cobra sterndrive. I was slowly pulling into the dock when all of a sudden everything shut down, like a blown fuse. Is there a master fuse somewhere on the boat. I looked at the fuse panel and everything looks good. I did have the stereo and blower on when idling into the dock. Hoping for answers if possible.. thanks

Re: No Power

Back by the shift plate on the motor there should be 2 huge fuses.

Re: No Power

Welcome to Iboats.

Is there any power on the boat (lights, radios, accessories, etc)? If not, I would be checking your battery connections for looseness, corrosion, etc.

If you have power to the above, then you most likely blew a fuse. Fuses are in-line, and contained in a rubber boot that looks allot like a standard round wire connector.

This is a picture that should be close to what you have for a harness (came from shop.evinrude.com for an '88 2.3);

The wires with numbers 47, and 94 next to their eyelets contain the fuses (numbered 41, and 93).

The OMC/BRP part number for both fuses is 0982019

+1 on checking battery connections, including + to starter and - to engine.

...and make sure they are not touching anything they shouldn't.
