i have a 1999 larson 226 lxi, volvo 5.7 gl/sx drive... got boat late in season last year(2007)... have noticed this year that when on plane, faster than 25 mph the boat turns to the right fine but does not go left very well... the prop "blows out" un less you give a little trim down. any one else heard of or had this problem?? posible question for the engine/io section?
had previous boat of a 1988 sea ray 185 w/ merc 4.3- alpha1 and never had a problem turning on a dime at any speed so new quirk to me
thanks

Re: no left turn

check the little fin anode above the prop, could be knocked out of adjustment or broken off all together.
I think Dom S. posted a picture how to adjust them.

Re: no left turn

the thought of the prop rotatation had crossed my mind...
the anode above the prop is smooth, no fin
it was suggested about the depth sounder on the left side (looking from back forward) creating a "wash" first thought no,, but still keeps question in head on this posibility:confused:

Re: no left turn

torgue steer, rotation of the prop.

well i gues i'm down to this.. today i removed the transducer of the depth finder from brackets and tied it up to the wire out of the water. still the same result, even tried a different prop ,,, i wonder if a good hydrofoil would help?? had a cobra edge on previous boat and it helped a great deal with planing and top speed.
thanks for the ideas of all replies
