2002 Mercury 60HP 2 stroke. No fire to plugs after replacing Stator, complete wiring harness and control, trigger and voltage regulator. Where do I go from here??
Thanks, no offense taken. I feel the same way and have tried to double and triple check each connection. Im getting ready to post an update with more info on why I did what I did. Maybe it will shed more light on what's going.Welcome to iboats Ray.
Thats a lot of replacing. and some $$$
No offense but that
Leaves lots of opportunities to factor in human error.
Double check every connection and color code from the wiring diagram.
Ground wires ?
Ignition switch connections and Kill switch circuit ?
Update; little history. This was a project to re-power a 1983 pontoon boat. The guy I bought the motor from cranked the motor on a stand and it ran fine. He put the motor on my boat for me and cranked it again with no problems. The harness he was using was the one he uses on his stand so when I left he gave me a different ( old ) harness. When I got home and hooked up the harness it blew the 20A fuse on the motor. It also melted all the wire connectors for all the yellow wires. That's when I started replacing the parts listed above starting with the harness. I think I fried something but I don't know what!! Thanks for any help you can throw my way!!2002 Mercury 60HP 2 stroke. No fire to plugs after replacing Stator, complete wiring harness and control, trigger and voltage regulator.
