No cold start

1981 Johnson 115 hp turns over won't start I sprayed some gas in the carburetor ran all day no problems including shutting off and starting back up several times during fishing parked the boat cleaning fish ate and went to sleep woke up the next morning got in the boat would not fire up spray gas in the carburetor again ran all day with no problem it does not have an electric choke need a little help thanks in advance

What do you mean with ---" no electric choke "----On this motor.-----It has the electric primer valve.----Push key in while cranking it over !

Thanks that’s the first time I ever had to use it usually I just start it up appreciate the info

Check for leaks in your fuel system. Sounds like you're losing prime over an extended period of time causing a hard start. Once you spray gas into the carbs allowing it to start you are creating a vacuum in the fuel system purging all the air from the system and allowing the motor to run. Once killed for an extended period of time it allows air back into the system. May sound a little funky but have ran across this more than once.
