cheaper to get a new radio
Maybe, the converter is 200, a plug n play 2000 is over 300 and most 400

Been looking my self for my new boat, be nice if they had a regular size flush mount with 2000. All the ones that have it built in are larger units

Look around a bit……the Standard Horizon GX1850W supports NMEA 2000 for $210

Moot point if the OP has a newer Garmin as it appears to be. The NMEA 0183 wires are bundled in with the power connector

I'll assume you're hooking up for DSC/DSE....

So in your hand, as you probably already know, you're holding the ICOM's NMEA0183 comms wires, your Garmin is very much capable AND can communicate/hookup with NMEA0183(as well as NMEA2K) devices such as your Icom VHF.

You require nothing else but to have to wire the two together manually(strip, twist, solder, heat shrink) if you will. See the following info and paying attention to wires functions and not so much colors when hooking up/together.

(Shows a garmin VHF, your ICOM is same difference. Also your Garmin's NMEA0183 hookuo wires are located together with its power connecting wires, ie, same loom.....Check your owners manual for more info. Also also, you'll have to drill down into a few manu items on the garmin to tell it that its comms are on the/in NMEA0183 mode/port)

Here is the connections DWG I used to connect my Std Horizons DSC to the new Garmin Echomap 74 SV I installed. Works fine.

As others state the NEMA 0183 connection is bundled in the power cord
