After successful water pump rebuild, I have another engine issue. Boat was traveling significantly slower than it should for given RPM, load, and water conditions. It didnt feel like the engine was working hard or sluggish, but close to a 10 MPH (by GPS) loss at 4000 RPM. Trim adjustment didnt seem to matter. No significant surging, although RPMs did fluctuate a little with a given throttle position. Occassional odd vibration when throttling up. Boat was having a difficult time getting up on plane on occassion. It almost felt like we were dragging something. Nothing in the prop, hull has no water in it. Suggestions have been slipping hub, exhaust gas escaping around the prop instead of through, bad gas, and mis/non firing cylinder. All these seem to hold merit. Plugs are clean, lower unit oil clean, was going to remove the prop tonight and check the hub, but that will have to wait till tommorrow. Wouldnt a slipping hub, get hot in short order and completely fail?
