Hi all, I'm Brian. I am kinda new to boats, I have a canoe but that might not count. I recently bought a 1950 Holiday (not a chris craft, It was made in tennessee by the holiday fiberglass co) with a 1959 mercury mark 55a. I know the boat ran last year but something happened to the starter and he sent it in to get rebuilt and got ripped, they never returned it. He couldn't get it running and decided to just get rid of it. I always wanted it so he offered it to me for $125 just to get it out of his yard and pay the taxes on his new boat. I didn't know where to introduce myself so I did it here. I plan on restoring the boat. I have extensive fiberglass knowledge (I work aircraft) and use to restore cars so I am going to try and tackle this project. I'm just curious if anyone has ever heard of this boat and/or has any pics of another one. I have found a lot on the outboard but nothing on the boat itself.

From what I was told there is suppose to be wood there. It was taken out so they could set trot lines better. I am going to replace it with wood I just don't know what it is suppose to look like or what kind of wood. I figured if I can't find any info I am just going to use teak. The boat was inside most of it's life and was well taken care of. Its amazing what some people will do to these old things.

The resto forum is why I picked this forum out of all the other ones I ran across. I can have the boat done by next summer and I figured if anything I can get another outboard untill I go completly through this one. Them old marks seem to be kinda hard to locate parts for. Glad you guys like it, the ole lady just shook her head when I pulled it home:D
