You can post 5 or 6 pix per post & add caption before or after each pix like I did above w/ how the IMG Code appears when posted.

Re: Newb to Iboat's

I kinda am having second thoughts on material I used I went with 3/4 aruco glued it together with waterproof liquid nail and clamped it its been sitting for two days curing I also shot some brass screws threw it from what would be the inside of the transom when It goes in I will be coating it with a marine grade varnish as many times as I can coat it until I run out of varnish I had to kinda go the inexpensive route because household 6 ( wife) put me I. A budget lol any thoughts on this

This is the new transom first coat of varnish It sucked the first coat up very fast so I'm going to let it dry tonight then ill keep coating it until I'm satisfied

Uhhhmmm, Do you KNOW you have a GHOST in your Garage!!!!! I would highly recommend 2-3 coats of Rustoleum Pro Oil Based paint on your transom to finish her off. If you do that and if you Maintain and Care for her properly, she'll last for decades.

Re: Newb to Iboat's

Lmao thanks wood I will definately do that as for care I'm no doubt keeping her covered and inside when not in the water ensuring she has had proper drying time and post trip maintence however the ghost would be my father n law who is very much alive that just ended up walking threw the pic lol what's even funnier is I didn't realize he was in the pic till I read your post and went back and looked ha ha

Re: Newb to Iboat's

Lol no worries my friend looking at the picture now it's kinda spooky I agree i ve been working on the old girl at his house which is a few miles away he just has better set up for doing the project there so he s always around he's retired and always looking for something to do lol I can usually keep him busy ha ha so wouldn't be to supprised to see some more ghost pics as the project continues... As a further note I ve been trying to figure out over hauling my dash its in pretty rough shape after seeing how the sheeting for the transom turned out I'm considering using the same wood except maybe 1/2 and sanding it good and smooth then using the same varnish to seal it and give some color any thoughts anyone

Re: Newb to Iboat's

Nice Jupiter! Sounds like a quick turn to get her on the water. Nice work finding the un-grounded wire.

Transom's looking good, I used the spar varnish last year on a small tinny. Even if you don't paint it it will last a long time.

Lots of Tin Heads here and lots of Starmada members, we love Starcrafts and lots of pictures.

Welcome to the site and good luck with the Jup.

PS You could go back and change the thread name to something that would reflect the project if you wanted to:)

Re: Newb to Iboat's

Hey thanks 64 i can definately say Iboat's is great everyone here is full of knowledge and support

I'm grateful for everyone's help especially with this being my first major undertaking of any kind or boat restoration.

I am in love with this boat I have to admit I eat sleep and breath thinking about this project and the fun we re going to have on it tho I think my other half thinks I'm nuts lol but once she gets out on her for the first time I think she ll be hooked because she hasn't ever been boating

Being as this is my third boat it's been a few years since I had one so I'm excited to be back into one again no doubt my last boat which I wish I'd have kept was a 87 Glastron Conroy cuddy she was big and slow maybe 35 mph if everything was right but was an amazing ride anyhow i think this old girl will quickly replace her or already has hard to say till I get her out the first time

Today I will be going back over to continue on the transom my goal is still to have her on the water by next week or at the latest second week on June so I gotta keep going on her ill get some pics today of the new/ used seats I've gotten and installed and a few more of the old girl just to show everyone a little more of what I'm into sorry for the book lol

This is a picture of the inside of the old girl dash like I said is rough but will likely be a winter time project
The seats are compliments of my Craigslist find for 100 bucks
Still have some cleaning to do after I get her back together
