Yea, did that a few times in younger days! Never in a dry suit - always a wet suit. But not too bad when you take off and land on shore. However, the worst day was when a buddy wanted me to TEACH him to ski! It was snowing, the water was about 34 degrees, the air, 30, and he did not have a suit - shorts and life jacket only (and no alcohol)! Well, I think he was the quickest learner I have ever scene - didn't want to stay in the water long!

Sanger, great pictures! Thanks for bringing back the memories, and if I am ever in your area on Jan 1, I will be sure to look you up!

Actually, jtexas, with all of the gear I wear it's not that bad at all. If you've never worn a drysuit, you just wouldn't understand. I wear a baggy type nylon drysuit that allows you to wear several layers under the drysuit. Long underwear and a layer of fleec over that for me. On the feet are thin socks, neopreme socks, and then a pair of latex booties. On the hands I wear a pair of thin fleece gloves under a pair of latex gloves, similar to diswashing gloves. Most of the time, I stay completely dry except my face. If you stay dry, you stay warm.

If I had to make a guess on the water temp, I'd guess around 34 degrees F.

BTW-this is most certainly NOT the first times I've been called nuts! :D

sangerwaker You might need to double your medication dose! The guy on the kneeboard looked like he was in pain! What by chance was the water temp??
