Hi all,

I installed my new throttle cable, but the black plastic adjustment barrel is too fat to fit into the cable holder that is attached to the engine.

The cable holding bracket is two "U" shaped metal tabs, one of which opens up and the other down, that you sort of rotate the old cable into. It appears that the bulge in the new black plastic adjustment wheel should fit in the gap between the two Us, but the diameter of the plastic is about an 1/8th of an inch too fat to fit.

sorry, couldn't find a part name or # to be clearer.

I suppose I can buy this part to fit the cables, but I'm also considering drilling the bracket openings to fit.

That's right, they take different cable locks because the new cables have adjustable nuts. I suppose you could enlarge them with a chainsaw file. Or, just buy new ones. The part numbers are 305736 (Throttle) and 305737 (Shift).
