The 10 speed transmissions in the Ford and GM are sister transmissions from the same Ford/GM JV
In the half tons they are. GM and Ford developed their own 10 speeds in the 3/4T and up although they started with the half ton designs and they went in different directions on the heavy duty transmissions.

You hardly feel the shifts in a 10 speed. BTW, when you drove that bronco, it skips gears 2 and 4 unless you were in sport or trailer mode. F-150s do the same.
Interesting. My 22 f150 does not seem to skip 2 or 4 all the time. (Can watch it indicate each gear and feel each gear on acceleration in normal mode) seems to do it more in slow traffic or very light acceleration. The denali is so smooth I couldn't tell you if it does or doesn't as I really can't feel the shifts to count them.

If you accelerate at a normal rate, it will skip. If you accelerate higher, it might not skip.

I figured I'd cross check the same source for mine out of curiosity. They can be found used in the $200-$400 range. I guess when the vehicle is 100k that msrp makes sense.

My point is:
Who asked for this? Blind spot monitoring
It’s a conspiracy guys, between the unelected bureaucrats and the auto execs. Good for them bad for consumers. While the feckless politicians crow about affordability!
