That would be a great set up for sure. It looks easy alright like the 2 in my SN but I can't find anything similar to that livewell with a top / hatch to seal it. All the ones I see are replacement livewells for other boats and it's just the tub.

make one out of road-signs, rivets & pigeon poop. The fish will need to make reservations months in advance for such luxurious accommodations!

A bit more progress, going to put solid 3/4 ply in top of bow section replacing the 2 1x4 supports, the foam flotation is dry as a bone, no need to replace it, doesn't look like the boat has ever leaked a drop, the transom is solid a bit of oil seepage from the oil fill that was inside the well, going to eliminate the fill there and just fill it from inside, no way to see how close to fill it was with that system and I guess the PO overfilled it a few times causing it to leak down and on the inside of the transom, it also had an ashtray and 2 cup holders on each side covered with aluminum going to build carpeted lockable rod holder compartments on each side.

Looks great so far Budski, another great project! Lucky to have a 'dry as a bone' boat! What material did you use to cover the 3/4" V-shaped board you replaced up font?

I'll follow along.... :)

Actually all I used is rustoleum primer, will cover with a gloss rustoleum have some left, it will be covered with aluminum so I don't think it will need a lot of protection.

You sure did luck out on the foam, that's a nasty job and expensive to replace. Even has a good transom going on 30 years? Wow!

Yes for sure Rob, I've done my share of them, actually that's the worst part of a rebuild if you have to do it, I'm thinking this boat must have been stored inside most of it's life even the floor wasn't that bad for a 30 year old boat, it had a 1/2 inch plywood floor and I'm debating whether I want to replace with a 5/8 or 3/4 ply not sure how much it might throw out the consoles,

Yeah I just wish I could get 5/8" marine grade here, only 1/2 and 3/4 are carried by my lumber yards supplier. The 1/2" requires some extra support to take the spring out of it but I bet the 5/8" works out great. For the upper decking that has cut outs for hatches and livewells, I think 3/4" is best.

Yes 5/8 definitely is a lot better than 1/2, and for sure Ron I intend to use 3/4 for the upper deck, going to have a pedestal base and seat up there along with storage hatches and live well and will need the extra support.
