The motor and boat are new. Is the fuel tank and primer hose new too? If not, see if you can swap the fuel tank and fuel line with another to see it that fixes the problem or not. <br /><br />Usually squeezing the primer bulb to keep a motor running is an indication of a failing fuel pump, clogged up carborators or clogging fuel filter. Seeing as your motor is new, it would seem slim that there is a fuel pump or carborator issue at this early stage in its use. I'm wondering if a used tank has introduced dirt/water to the fuel system, clogging the fuel filter and or messing up the carbs. Being that your motor is a two cylinder I can tell you from experience that if one cylinder is not running 100% you will really notice a major loss of power, even if the other cylinder is running 100%. <br /><br />With that info at hand, I suggest inspecting/replacing the fuel filter and trying a different fuel tank and hose. The motor may be sucking air through a small leak in the fuel hose and that prevents it from pumping fuel.<br /><br />Another thing to try is to disconnect the fuel hose and prop open the ball valve in the quick connector with a tooth pick. Have the connector end of the hose in a clean gas safe container and pump the bulb forcing fuel through the hose. Inspect the fuel for dirt, grit, and/or water. If everything coming out looks OK, then remove the tooth pick, and keep pumping the primer. It should get hard and stay that way for a few minutes without leaking fuel out any part of the hose. This will test for a leak between the bulb and motor end of hose, but not from the tank to bulb end of hose.<br /><br />Post back about the fuel tank and hose your using and the results of testing them.<br /><br />Also, check your receipt for the motor. I believe that warrentee is 1 year on new motors from Johnson/Evinrude. If you are withing the warrentee period, I would contact the dealer after checking out the fuel tank and hose.<br /><br />Mark.
