Hello everyone I am new to the site and to the boating community. I purchased an old MFG boat yesterday for $150. It is in really sad shape, there are bushes growing in it and there is no engine. Luckily I already have a good running outboard I can use, it is a 1968 johnson 40 2 cylinder electra shift. Like I said before I am knew to boats in every aspect. This is my first boat purchase. I was referred to this site by a friend that is also a member. He informed me that this site is full of knowledgeable people and is a great place to get some helpful direction when it comes to boat restoration and modifications. I currently don't even know what year or model my boat is but I found a picture of a boat that is identical to mine. My boat does have a 12 character hull vin which I believe tells me it's a 1972 or newer. I will upload pictures of my project soon, currently my computer is having trouble letting me upload them. For now I just copied and pasted this photo. I am looking forward to restoring my boat and being part of the iboats forum.

Thanks everyone,
Jay
