Hello, new member here. I've been spending some of my retired time putting my Grandpa's old boat back in shape. I was five years old when it was new, a 1957 14' aluminum Starcraft with a 5.5 Evinrude Fisherman. It never was used much, but it looked pretty ragged and I thought it deserved better. It runs great and does everything I need it to do. It's all new to me, but I've been able to get some tips from this forum along the way. Thanks for the help. Best, DD

That Fisherman looks like a real puff. As does the boat, for that matter. The trailer is obviously newer. Nice acquisition!

Nice!
Those Starcraft row boats are fantastic, especially for fishing.
You can't beat those aluminum hulls. They seem to last forever and are easily freshened up if neccessary.
Enjoy the memories of your grandpa while you're out fishing!

Thanks for the kind words. It's a nice old boat. It sat outside for a while but it didn't really hurt it much. I was able to polish it up some and put new wood in the transom. I painted the blue part to match the original and my friend gave me a newer Shorelandr trailer. I've added some small items to make it easier to fish out of. It is a very enjoyable rig. The old Evinrude runs like a top and is perfect for the restricted lake where we go. We get a lot of nice compliments. Dad and Grandpa would have loved it. Best, DD

Years ago, my father-in-law bought a used 12' Starcraft like your 14 footer.
He fixed it up nice and it's still looking good decades later.
A great fishing boat.
