OMG - VB finally fixed something. This has been on their bug list since VB5 was released, so no kudos after 3+ years!

I also had a book mark which took me straight to "Whats New", but with all the other trouble I changed it to the forum main page thinking this may help. Well it didn't and my whats new was working fine. So now I also see the same if I try to use the whats new link as a book mark, and it messes up.

Wish I would have left my book mark alone

Now that the Top Of Page carat is working, getting to the Forum, What's New and Todays Posts buttons is easier.

AD - What happens when you click the bookmark?

I can bookmark the three buttons and the results are right in Firefox and IE11 on a PC, but that means nothing if it's not working for you.

My user ID is different. Just put the cursor over any username and the username/user ID is displayed as part of the link to their profile on the bottom of the screen - for FF and IE on a PC.

redneck joe - have you tried a logout and logon again? And/or a browser cache clear? (Part of the reason I'm asking is that your avatar is still animated - VB has been struggling with animated GIFs since the upgrade).

I've had no trouble posting from my iPad or any of the browsers on the Mac platform.

Your page? Meaning your activity page? What the image shows is Today's Posts or very similar.

When I copy and paste the link with "urldefense", I get no results found, but that could be because I'm not logged in as you, which I can't do.

sorry let me clarify. my laptop, where I posted from is company. My tablet is personal. But since posting from my tablet is damn near impossible since the upgrade I emailed the link to my work addy, then posted. Is goes thru the URL defence thingamajig.

redneck joe - I'm not that good with code, so I might be reading this all wrong: that search string seems to me to want to point to a private message of some kind. When I punch it in, I hit the results of an advanced search but with nothing populated.

I'm thinking that I'm going to the right place, but because I'm not logged in as you it's blocking me from seeing the results. Any chance the same thing is happening because it's your work computer?

My iboats bookmark points to the Todays Posts page and has been a similar gobbledygook search string, including the PrivateMessages code for over a year, not related to newest upgrade....

Maybe I'm in the minority of users (probably), but on an 8" android tablet in landscape view the sticky header still takes up half the page. This is in mobile view from the chrome menu. Same in desktop view on the tablet. Sorry, I'm not scrolling two sentences at a time to read posts here and images are worse.

Edit: ya, I know you guys have to keep the lights on, but the in-your-face "buy our stuff" banner is kinda obtrusive, at least when I'm on the tablet browsing, which is 99% of the time when I'm not working on my laptop.

search?searchJSON - VB command to do a search, searchJSON is the name of the subroutine, so this says search using searchJSON.

Everything following are the search parameters, what will be displayed and what you don't want. The stuff like %7B, etc. are "AND", "NOT", "NOR", "NEQ" and so on are selection qualifiers.

=%7B"authorid"%3A%5B"146975" - Who wrote it? authorid=146975 is redneck joe, either as the OP of a topic or a poster in the topic.

%5D%2 C"view" = What are you asking for? view means display or list with default sorting and how many to display.

%3A"topic" = What do you want displayed? topic meaning topic titles and associated info.

%2C"channel"%3A"2"%2C = Where are you searching? channel 2 is database file containing every forum topic and chains to all replies. This includes PM's which are also forum topics with a private message flag. Channel 1 may by a database of all members, Channel 3 may be a database of all photo albums and so on.

"exclude_typ e"%3A%5B"vBForum_PrivateMessage"%5D%7D = What you don't want. exclude_type=vBForum_PrivateMessage means skip any PM's.

In English - Show the last topics Joe has started or posted in but skip PM's and sort the list by last update time and date.

So what do you get with all that?

nothing wrong with work computer. My post was on the availability of the the link I posted but I think I sent you donw a rabbit hole. The link used to be avail under my user name in the upper right then one more click. Can't find the link now other than on a saved (pinned) location I have. So the link works but not seemingly anywhere to go to random access; only if the link was saved. Make sense? If not, PM me and i'll give you my cell so we can talk. Of I can set up a webex if you want to see anything on laptop.

This is what I posted earlier in this thread but without the screen shot. Take this and add the pop up keyboard and there is no useable space on the screen. You cannot see what you are typing and my typing skills are bad enough when I can see them. Then if I do try to correct a mistake after minimizing the keyboard it pops back up and cannot see if I am actually correcting my initial mistake. Again, i tend to add to it with my skills.

On my proboards forum, when I hit the pop up keyboard, all the headers roll up out of the way to I can see the dialogue box, thus see what I am typing. Then when the keyboard is minimized the headers roll back down.
