Negative spray on anti-vent plate -

Boat: Seaswirl Temp 17
Motor: OB 1990 evinrude 90hp v4

Motor when measured was around 1/2inch above keel when basing it off the trim guage which looking at it is pretty level with the keel. I decided to move it up one mounting hole to see what difference it would make. It felt like it handled better got on plane faster handled corners well, never really got any cavitation/ventilation on corners so feels like it will be a decent height for the motor. Getting a few more mph in speed and a little higher rpm sitting now at about 5400 at WOT. Now that I have it moved up its sitting at about 1 1/8 to 1 1/4 above the keel depending how i measure it.

The issue: Now that it is slightly higher I started to get a pretty good horseshoe spray out the back thought maybe i moved it wrong direction but had passenger take wheel and went back and looked and now the water coming off the transom is pushing up slightly which i would expect it to but it is hitting the anti-vent plate underneath and causing the spray to horshoe around the plate. Motor is not to low as i have visually inspected while at WOT. Is there any solution to fixing the spray coming up and hitting the vent plate or something that is ok and just live with it or should I move it back down one hole?

If it is not causing any negative issues why fix what isnt broke??

I agree for now going to just leave it and if it gets real annoying try to figure something out was hoping maybe someone else might have dealt with a similar issue and came up with a solution.

What is behind you shouldnt matter. as stated, spray comes off your pitot, your transducers, your chines, etc.

Vary with trim positions especially when trimmed all the way out....defined as when the RPMs start climbing and the speed starts slowing down?

As long as your engine isn't overheating and spray isn't getting in the boat just the price you pay for increased performance....wink!

Hard to have a solution when there is no problem to begin with...all boats shoot spray in various directions when up on plane, unless it is creating a problem, there is nothing to solve.
