Hi I have a 1980 22' aquasport. I hit a rock and have been trying to fix the scraths and damge cause by the rock all day. I graind the boat for two days then vacumed the rest out. Today it was dry so I went ahead and applied marine tex and a sheet of fiberglass. All was going good and everything was drying, then i noticed it was dripping water. What should I do? I put a hole in the floor to see if there was any water an there was non. I put a heat lamp on it and am planning on using a epoxy stix on the outside of the hull. What can I use for the inside part of the hull?

Thanks for all the help.

Is the crack somewhere where it can be seen from the inside? Or is it somewhere that might be foam filled? The reason I ask is your boat is 28 years old, and its not uncommon to find foam that has soaked up water. It could be this soaked foam that is slowly leaking out a crack.

Or, the boat may have just spent enough time in the water after the damage that water has leaked in through a crack, and it could take a while to drain out.

You may have to drill into the floor to see if there is water soaked foam or not. Or drill a hole where the crack is to see what is behind it.

Trying to figure out just how you did this repair, and how Marine-Tex got involved . Did you glue a fiberglass sheet over the hole with Marine-Tex?

Or did you put some kind of backing behind the hole then glass over it?

How big is the hole?

Pictures would be good ...............
