Howdy,

Welcome aboard!

It's very hard for people to figure out how to help you without knowing what you have.

OMC made a LOT of vastly different sterndrives.

sorry 1995 omc cobra model #t0794233

That t number is a serial number, which don't work with OMC, no way of converting them to model numbers.

Engine year, make, type, Full Model number.
Giving only the year does not help, as that is the year of the boat and not always the year of the engine and drive package.

Pictures of your drive will help, without knowing what engine you have, you could have a choice of 3 different drives.

Re: need teck advice for my omc sterndrive

again find that model# it does not exsist, help

Well it does exist. It should be on the engine unless someone replaced the engine and either didn't keep the number or left it off......or installed an automotive 302 etc......
A little more info might help.

Is the engine EFI (is it REALLY a 302/5.0L engine?) Carb (2v or 4v)

Are you absolutely sure you have a 95 model engine and drive........you cannot go by the boat year model. All the boat builders frequently use last years model engine/drive if they have them lying around......does the drive have a "hump" in the top ?

If it DOESN'T, it's a dog clutch drive and could be a 93 model.....although that is probably unlikely. Anything is possible though since the boat is 16 or more years old.

People change all sorts of things .......(for example, My 87 Four Winns came with an OMC 460 King Cobra. It's now got a 97 Mercruiser 454/Bravo installed)

If your drive IS in fact a 95 model cone clutch drive, it MAY be a Volvo Penta SX drive. That'll be good if true since they're still supported by Volvo. If it's the "interim" OMC cone clutch drive, it won't be pretty.......many parts are NLA for them.....

You need to identify what you have.

If it's the EFI model the engine number will be on the side of the bracket which holds the TFI and E-Coil, next to the throttle body.

Ok, looks like with the numbers you have, it is an SX style drive.
Do you still have the boat the way it is now? Broken?
If so, pull the plastic cover off the back of the outdrive and take a picture that shows everything under the cover. I need to see the position of the shift linkage, and how the shift mechanism is installed.

There are 3 small bolts holding the plastic cover on. Two on top, and one on the lower point.
