Need some opinions on windows!!!

WHAT WOULD YOU DO???

3 out of the 4 porthole window trim pieces on my sea ray are cracked, and all of them are yellowed and dirty looking. I've priced new ones at 45.00 a piece which is going to be out of my range for the time being. So for giggles I just removed them. And it doesnt look bad in my opinion. Yes, there is exposed screws but they are stainless, and some "back to black" really cleaned them up nice.

So would you put the broken ones back on, run without any, or the third idea was to try to fix the trim a bit, and paint them black? With them being black you almost wouldnt notice the missing chunks from the previous owners lack of docking skills, since there would be a black background. Here's some pics, let me know!!

I think the ultimate answer is "whatever you like the best." The cheap side of me says leave them off if you're ok with that.

I would be putting forth all my effort in repairing the trim pieces, probably lay-up the whole thing with fiberglass mat, trim, grind, sand, make it better than original, able to take a hit or two without cracking.

I was thinking a trip to the auto-salvage yard and finding a bumper cover that small pieces could be cut from and glued in place...it's not so hard if you think about it...some filler material to smooth it out sand and paint black...I just thought it would look nice in black , but looks a bit rough without the trim pieces.

$180.00. It's a boat! You've heard the phrase "BOAT = Break Out Another Thousand".

What does it cost you for fuel for one trip? What does it cost to tow it to the water?

I have a stack of $5 bills on my boat (for tips). I call them "boat dollars". $100.00 is a "boat unit".

Repairing your boat with new parts and just a few minutes labor with a screwdriver will cost less than two "boat units".

rbh likes the black, but I think it looks UG LY. If I didn't have much else to do with the boat like engine repairs or the like, I would fix it. Maybe not with factory replacements, but something. I would have to add tough, that even the "white" should match better than it looks in your first photo.
