Re: need some ideas.
zopper i understand my boats junk but it works. it's like have a crappy car with 300k miles on and will abandon you some were some time but it's all you have and you have to use it to make money for a new car.
Thats what it's like for me. i know i probally have the crappiest boat but it works. the transom isn't falling apart. has a new shatty deck in it and the motor needs a bit of work to get it going again.
please help me out what can i do on my boat to make money? i know i won't tow any one. But the thing is i might be able to do lobstering or quohoging but what would make more money? and what would i need for either of those jobs. or is there something else that i'm could do?
I got a couple of things to say.........But first off im going to respond the above.
First off.....lil red is not a POS......its just built wrong. The deck is the only thing holding it together....it needs stringers man....a couple of good whacks from bigger waves....and its done for......straight to the bottom... Tear up the deck and add some stringers and a transom!
Woodonglass showed you a picture of how it should be done.......do it like that...and your boat will be fantastic!
Right now....do not take passengers on your boat....do not go out on your boat with out a life-jacket on. you could die....and im serious
Ok......now.....a couple of more things.
Thank you very much for using the spell checker bud....it has made a world of difference since your last post. Good on you !
I really like the way you have your head thinking towards making money. And your goal is a sail boat....not dope...not booze...a sail boat......This is fantastic in my opinion.
I think that way you have put up with our shots and keep coming back really says something about you.....it says you can persevere...even though ridiculed and scorned.....you have decided to keep the council of a bunch of middle aged guys that know where you are in life, that have been there and done that, and are willing to make helpful suggestions, and if you follow the suggestions with correct thought....nothing will stop you from succeeding. That my friend.....is fantastic. !
Now......on to you making money.
You obviously, do not want to go wash dishes at a restaurant......you seem to want self employment....I always liked that better myself.
Don't know what the weather is like in Rhode island......But cutting lawns is a really lucrative business. A lot of guys in my area are making 60 thousand dollars a year from lawn maintenance....They have several clients, and are busy 6 hours a day......the rest is time off for them. (well not really....there is a lot of marketing and book keeping to do) but...for you......you could start with a self propelled lawn mower from an auction that will cost 20 bux......from there....a couple of rakes....shovels, a weed whacker.....and you are in business ! in two months, if you work hard and sell your self to customers......you will have that sail boat. !....not next year......in two months !
25 bux a front....30 for the back....deal at 40 for both......takes you 2 hours (i mean make it look really good....weed whack...everything) that is a minimum of 20 bux an hour !!!
Im not talking about a kid walking around with a lawn mower knocking on doors and begging for money.......Im talking about printing flyers, newspaper adds, and proper marketing.
you will carry a cell phone.....and answer customers calls.......Imagine......sitting at a restaurant with a couple of chicks......your phone rings, and you answer, LAWN MASTERS....what do you think they will think of you then???? Conduct your self respectfully and properly, and you will be beating the chicks off with a stick.....I don't care if you are ugly, have pimples and teeth that are sideways.....they will go for a person that acts like a man.
Another thing you can do.....is buying and selling stuff.....I bought a clothes dryer from an auction for 5 bux.....fixed it.....and sold it for 100 dollars....in 3 years, I had built up to 2 furniture stores that were doing 1.5 million dollars a year.
But only buy and sell what you know....if you buy something and cant fix it...throw it away rather than sell it to someone Only sell what is working...for a fair price. If you sell someone something that isn't working....or tell them its something it isn't......that is ripping them off.....it is criminal....and people go to jail because of it...so be careful.....and think of the customer first.
There is two ideas for you.....you don't have to use them....but who knows....you might !
Thank you for trying to improve your spelling and communication bud
Cheers
