Does anyone have plans or rough drawing how to build a frame to protect boat from winter? (Will cover with Tarp)

How about a picture ;)

I ran a 2" piece of pvc pipe from stem to stern (actually 2 10' pieces connected but not glued.

I used T sections and ran supports down into the seat post holes for my fishing seats

I attached the side pieces with strapping

I then covered the boat with two layers of cheap blue tarps and cheap poly rope.

Prior to my PVC design I used to use saw horses and have the saw horse bracket support the PVC.

PVC is flexible, cheap and is not sharp so it did not cut through the plastic tarps.

I live in an area that gets well over 8' of snow a season and my designs have not failed.

I like that big bronco in the background. I would love to restore one of those one day.

I sold it this past summer with 86,000 original miles

it was a real rust bucket but ran like a clock..... it was a plow truck.

nice design. i did something sim. but like yours better! the key is to get the right height on the post in the seat holes and that the top post is on top so it makes a neat angle for the tarp. almost looks like an inverted hull.

I made mine in about 15 minutes with some 2x4 and 2x2 stock.

Make 3 inverted T's using 2x4's.
- The stern one being slightly above the transom
- The center being about 6" above the highest point of the boat (usually the windscreen)
- The bow one being about 6" above the bow rail.
Connect all three using 2x2's nail at the peak of each inverted T.

From there you should have a free standing three segment cover brace which will hold darn near anythign and is cheap enough to junk in the spring. If you wish to keep it, simply attach each board with a bolt and the entire thing will fold up into a single long section, able to be stored on a wall or in a corner. It won't get you on the cover of 'Boating', but it'll keep your boat dry.
