Hi, I got new project boat, but ID plate is completely faded.
Anyone knows max HP rating?
Thanks.

The size and strong transom hint that is can be 15 HP or even 25 HP, but it would be good to know exactly.
None of them were rated over 10

Use the USCG formula.

Or look up the exact model from the specs posted

There are numerous references on the web for 14' FB Sears Gamefisher boats rated for 25HP.
Most of them without pics or model details, but this one looks the same as mine with addition of side consol and front deck.

Tiller boats vs side console boats aren't rated the same.

Yours is exceptionally unlikely to be rated for a 25hp

I had an '81 14ft a number of years ago just like that and the tag read
800lbs motor persons and gear, 25hp max
They were good boats, made by MFG.
Mine as getting fuzzy and giving me fiberglass splinters so I had to sand, primer and paint it back in the late 90's. I sold it about 12 years ago.

Here's a pic from the 76 catalog from online:

Yes, based on hull# mine was also made by MFG.
Thanks a lot.
