I just bought a 1977 Angler CC with a 1973 Mercury 1150 Outboard and the ignition was missing. I bought a new ignition at a boat dealer and there was'nt a wiring diagram in it. The wires are a different color then the wiring harness. Please help!!! I tried to look up the diagram, but all they show is the old colors. The old colors from the engine are red, black, white, Salmon, brown, yellow and some other coplor I can't tell. The wires on the ignition are black, red, yellow w/black, yellow w/red, purple, black with yellow.

I assumes you bought a new boat wiring harness, or was it a new motor harness?

OK, here is the interconnection guide, Red is red(+12VDC), black is black(ground), salmon is black/yellow(Ign killer, not used on your motor), white is purple(ign acc +12VDC), Yellow is yellow/red(starter solenoid), Brown is Grey(Tach signal), grey is yellow/black(choke solenoid)
