2017 Chap 246 SSI

I'm putting in a through hull water inlet for engine cooling purposes because the Bravo 3 water inlet system stinks.

Anyways, I cut a hole in the floor and removing the foam. After removing the foam the hull of the boat looks like the pic below.

However the floor of the hull is not flat, it is curved. I'm assuming that the curves represent stringers correct?

Am I OK to put the thru hull in where the red rectangle is? It's the only even flat surface inside that I can find so far. Should I drill a small test hole first?

I already left a message for Chaparral about getting a schematic showing stringers but they haven't responded.

yes, on your 2017, the "curved areas" are the engineered stringers. you will be fine where you are putting your thru-hull.

not sure why you think the B3 water inlet stinks its been proven on motors with 3x your current HP.

Since I'm removing some foam and adding some weight to that side, I'm assuming the boat will have a slight starboard list to it when in the water?

I guess I'll just test it out first and see if it's noticeable or not.
