I bought a 1982 marquis cuddy cabin...come to find out they only made them from 1976 to 1982 and went out of buisness...
So here is mt thing the hull not in real bad shape i beleive..the guy i got it from started the floors..but im thinkimg of taking them out and redoing them looks as if he put the new floor over the rotted floors...

And i want to check and the stringers if needed ..gas tank fuel lines etc....its a cuddy cabin so im in for quite of bit of work....

hoping i didnt buy a hunk of junk....but im a mechanic and did a a\c job on the guys car i got it from..so i have bout thirty dollars invested...

So once i get some pics of plzzzz any help will be greatly appreaciated...because from the looks of it im going to be riping the whole inside of the boat out..not much left anyway ..

How do i do the photobucket..plzzz help

Welcome to the Dry Dock! First thing I would say is read as many resto threads as you can. Check at the top of the resto section in the stickies and read the fiberglass section,lots of great info in that.

Get yourself the proper safety equipment...a good respirator OV filter type,tyvek type suit,goggles and gloves.....glass dust will tear up your lungs!
You'll need a circular saw,sawzall,angle grinder,cut off wheels and 36 grit grinding discs.

Get a photo bucket account.....upload your pics to it...when you mouse over the pic a box will appear...copy the fourm code and paste it in the reply box here and your pics will be posted in your thread.

Just like RR said - Hover then left click the IMG code box, it'll say copied, then just come back to iboats and right click in the reply box and paste.

ok tdf hey thanks too ,,took the advice and cut out some of my old transom on the starcraft i have ..used seacast to fill it in...i only have the 25 hp motor on it ...and just use the boat for fishing small lakes ...it will do me just fine....but ive got boat fever now...lol

so i bought a bigger boat that really needs the work...im posting some pics tomm...have to get some taken...so i can get your alls help...thanks again...tdf

the pics make the hull of the boat look well but it needs washed and restored badly

the guy i got it from put new floors over the rotted floors....

im going try and get it running tommorrow...the guy i got it from says its been winterized for over two years ...so any advice for me getting the motor running plzzzz help...im changing the oil and putting stabil in gas first....should i try and get out the stuff they used to winterize it or or will it blow out the exhaust just by starting it with the muffs on....i dunno need advice

Not really an I/O guy so only thought I have is just to get it running you might want to go with a portable tank to avoid bad gas.

Charge the battery up good....pull the plugs and see if it turns over. Crank it a over a few times to build some oil pressure.....install new plugs if needed,check cap rotor and wires....check for fuel in the carb when pumping the throttle and try to fire it up.... pulling fuel from a clean container is a good idea if you suspect the fuel in the tank is bad/old.

ok will do .,.let u all know tomm... if it fires up....im sure it will...just hope the out drive is in working condition...and im hoping the motor is good.....
just makes me wonder y the guy did all the work to the floors...and then just stopped...wish mre luck...

got it running seems to run well....had to sand the points down to get spark...took out the new floor the guy put in..wow
new floor over rotted floors...and in the cuddy he screwed 3 inch screw right through the bottom of the boat..im posting some pics...i believe the transom is rotted too..god im in for a real project...

this is the left bottom corner of the transom...any advice..looks bad goes pretty deep
