Hello, In my '56 evinrude 3hp lightwin, I'm missing the boss gasket that goes in the carb. the thick one that is centered in the float bowl and the high speed nozzle goes through. I hate to have to buy a new kit for one gasket. Can soneone tell me the size (o.d., i.d., and height) so maybe I could make one or find a close replacement. Believe it or not it ran fine with out one, but I'm sure it needs to be there. Also any place to get a high speed needle valve ? -thanks

That cork gasket is available separately at any reliable Evinrude or Johnson dealership. Part number is 302984.

The high speed needle valve is part number 302992, also available from your Evinrude dealer. Kind of pricey though, about $24. Are you sure you need one?

Not really for $24  Mines a little worn on the tip,but still working fine. thought I'd replace it while I had things apart. -Thanks

If your needle is really grooved on the tip, you could probably grind or file it down w/the same bevel and it should work fine. Tim's outboard 218-682-2331 will have one cheap, and you can have 'em throw in a used nozzle gasket.
