need help changing empeller

I have a 1970 70hp johnson...took the 4 bolts out and 1 9/16 bolt .. still doesn't budge..what am I missing ?

Did you remove the bolt under the trim tab, don't forget to disconnect the shift. Could you post your model number, can't find a 70hp in 1970.

sorry it is a 1978 70 vro yes got that bolt...How do I dissconect the shift

Bolts to remove, 1 #68, 1 #70 and 4 #66.
