Need carb help?

Just got a 1983 75hp Johnson good little motor just has some prob idleing in gear good compression, good spark, did link and sycn, boat Ran great at lake need but now have it at 6330' elevation and can't find any info on jetting or jets fir this carb can any one help? Any chart for jetting our web site for jets four this motor it is running a little too rich. Any suggestions?

first of all check your float levels if your fuel is just a bit high the mixure will tend to be rich , if to low it will tend to be to lean . this is because a high level takes less vacuum to suck fuel into the engine & a low level takes more vacuum to do the same

You could also check with a BRP/OMC dealer as there was a service bulletin out some yrs back that covered this. A prop with lesser pitch may also help.

I don't know anything about the practical effects of atmospheric pressure on the ability of the carb jets to siphon up fuel, but I can tell you that the floats are in there to keep your fuel bowl full, not to meter your fuel (jets do) and they don't meter your air (bleeders do). There is only one correct setting for the floats and that's the one that lets fuel in as fuel depletes and stops it from coming in when they're full.
