The anti-siphon valve does not prevent fuel from flowing back into the tank.

A back-flow preventer of some kind might do that; there's one in the primer bulb for those who have them.

I had a mechanic put a snycronizing tool on my carbs. I don't have a lean sneeze and it doesn't stall anymore coming out of the hole. I've had it out three times and so far its not given one bit of a problem. I guess that was it on mine. 1995 175 evinrude intruder motor.

redundent , link n synk , clean carbs , check all the easy ( not costly ) things first.
