1993 Johnson 9.9 hp J10RETM

Water pump was just replaced. It was pumping out a strong stream then stopped. Ive check the flush screw and it is bone dry. Leading me to belive it is the thermostat stuck closed. I don't want to open it until I can get a replacement seal.

Where can I find a thermostat kit with gasket and seals for this motor? Thanks in advance. ❤

Water out the pee tube does not go thru t-stat..Check to see if indicator has a blockage. Also check your water supply or impeller again.

You do not have nearly enough water in your test bucket !!!-----Add another 8 or 12 " to it.

Thanks for pointing me to the right direction! My curiosity has gotten the best of me and I opened up the thermostat housing above the spark plug area.

Low and behold it was bone dry and a heap of dirt and dust. I blew air through the tail tale and was able to feel air. Plugging the thermostat with my finger while blowing added resistant to the air flow.

Turns out I have no thermostat installed. Might explained why my motor is not peeing.
I cannot find a complete, assembled thermostat for my 1993 Johnson Outboards 9.9 [ J10RETM]?

All I've found was bits and pieces from Crowley. Can anybody help me find a completely assembled thermostat please?

Assembly?
It’s two parts….a thermostats and a gasket.

T-stat is not going to make it pee..you more likely damaged impeller with low water in testing tank

The water was replaced soon after that testing trial . Impeller are new and yes I've retested the motor in a deeper tank( clean recycling bin) in deep water.

I've taken the lower end off and flush the water tube from the bottom up. Water flows through the thermostat and the pee hole.

I've also flush water through the flush screw on the side of the engine. Water goes down and out of the water tube. So no clogging what so ever.

Just a heads up for anybody trying to replace their thermostat for

1993 Johnson J10RETM 9.9hp Outboard Motor. You will have problems finding the diaphragm to make your thermostat complete.
