ok, buttoned it back up, still no start.

still haven't got around to buying the fuel pressure tester, but on a hunch, after trying to start it, I disconnected the fuel line at the fuel rail. No fuel there.

Does that pretty much confirm a fuel pump failure? (Pressure regulator is integrated into the pump on this car).

fuel pump did the trick.

Glad you got it fixed. I hope you replaced the fuel filter aswell.

if you had a bad fuel pump but the car didnt throw a code I would check the fuse for the obd output. In fords they have a habit of blowing the fuse instead of lighting up the dummy light for some reason.
