The screens were to shield from media and fans taking pics. Gibbs apologized for the #11 team celebrating, saying they didn't know how bad it was. Kind of like in 2001 when Mikey won his first Cup race and was driving for DEI. He didn't know.

Just heard Ryan is in serious but stable condition with NONE life threating injuries.

Nascar issued a statement saying Ryan Newman is in serious condition, but his injuries are not life threatening.

He's 42. Time to retire. He came within an inch of losing his life.... Not worth testing fate again. His wife will have something to say about it providing he recovers fully to even think about racing again...

He announced last week that he and his wife are amicably splitting after like 18 years. Maybe they already had that talk.
