Re: NAME YOUR MOST ENJOYABLE AND RELAXING PLACE " YOU KNOW THE SPOT"

I guess my most relaxing place is not quite so exotic but all the same I find it just as good.

A ten minuet stroll down the road from my home and I am on the shores of the Indian Ocean, were on a warm summers evening after the heat of the day, you can walk along the sand and watch one of natures very own sky shows.
Seeing the sun go down over the ocean with a cool drink and in good company has to be up there with the best things in life.
If you are really lucky you may also see the dolphins playing in the surf and on very rare occasions you may catch a glimpse of wheals as they migrate south along our coast.

This to me is haven on earth it don't get any better than this.

Hay Polo call in the Fishermans Arms for a drink and a chat sometime.

I would have to say mine is bass fishing in the little crooks off the main channel of the Caloosahatchee River, on a fall morning, before the fog lifts, above the locks, iether drifting thru, or on the TM.
Ther is no place, time, feeleing like it. It is allmost better than sex. It is my personal Zen.

Moosehead Lake, Maine. Spent our family Summer vacations there as a kid, hiking, swimming and boating. Has always been very special to me. Just picked up a Summer cabin of my own, right on the lake, one of the same ones we stayed in when I was younger, and right next door to my Dad's cabin. Pretty much still the same except it now has electricity. No phone, no running water (except a hand-pump), no indoor plumbing. The area is still very much like it was 40 years ago. I even picked up a mid 50's Evinrude 10HP, almost identical to the one my Dad used to have way back when. There's no place else I'd rather be. Whenever I'm there it's like going back in time and being a kid again!!! :) :D  ;)

Wow! This is a hard one. I collect serene, relaxing places. I live in one where I view acres of native range from my window and it is so quiet you can hear your heart beat.

I guess my very favorite is an island on Lake Of The Woods, about 3 miles into Ontario from the Northwest Angle of Minnesota. It is covered with tall pines and has a jagged, rocky shore. There is an old, dead snag that towers above the rest of the trees. There is a Bald Eagle on top most of the time. In a shallow cove lives a legendary musky of immense proportions. My Son had her on a few years ago and lost her, airborne, at boatside. GAWD!, What a monster!! I can still catch 2-3# walleye any time I want to there.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)

My spot is not too far from JB's. Mine is Duluth Mn and the north shore of Superior. I have been visiting the area at least once a year since I was born. I know every crag from the liftbridge to Lutsen.

When you drive up 35W and reach the top of the hill overlooking Duluth, I automatically feel relaxed and forget what I left behind. Cresting the hill brings not only emotional changes but physical as well in the temp, and smell. My Family has grown to appreciate this as well, considering my wife came from Montana and had not traveled around MN much until I met her..

Some things I like about the North Shore:

The big 1000 foot freighters
The incessant waves that pound the shore
The rocky shoreline where I used to skip along the rocks with my Brother and sisters
The birch forests

I love it up there..

I'd tell you but this is a public web site and so a Captain Solo might show up.

Hints include salt water, rocks, trees, a touch of current and plenty of fresh air

Thousand Islands-Alexandria Bay, NY. No finer life than having lived 30 years on one of the islands (spring/summer/fall/no winters). Alan

There are too many places in the world to try and find just one. I think that any place where you are not having to work but outside doing whatever makes you want to be were you are in the first place is a good place to be.

Hi, Ho,
Our relaxing place is the Waitemata Harbour, New Zealand. There's numerous islands to anchor up by and explore. The fishing is great, the weather is usually forgiving. Overal the company one keeps outweights the place where one stops. So far I have been mostly lucky in this regard.
Ross

Now 12 footer, lets not get carried away. [better than sex, I don't think so.] just say the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

Seriously, my wife and I do have relaxing place. We fish a small lake here in the Central Ca. foothills. Actually it is the forebay of an upstream dam.

When we get tired of trolling we head upstream towards the upper dam. About half way there is a sandbar on the now fast flowing river. We stop and have lunch then cast upstream and let it drift down. After an hour or so we load up and drift fish back to our crowded trolling grounds. Happy Fishing all, Hal

:D :D :D :D

There is an island on the north arm of Opiongo lank in northern Ontario,it has no name that I know of. I went there with a buddy on a canoe trip when I was in my twenties. I sat for hours just looking across the water. We never saw another human being for 4 days. That was heaven on earth. :)

Re: NAME YOUR MOST ENJOYABLE AND RELAXING PLACE " YOU KNOW THE SPOT"

Its hard to say, since just the outdoor woods in autumn and the smell of the changing leaves is uplifting to me every single year. i guess i'd hafta say that due to the rough early yrs, and the great comradery i now have with my 'pop', that those visits to see my parents and of course get up early and get on the Tenn river with the dawn mist, knowing how much boating means to him, and that all those yrs have passed, so each time together is now more meaningful. and if we have a few good laughs & fillets, then its all the better.
-and having those fillets (slow fried in a touch of butter in a cast iron skillet by the hands of my mother) for breakfast the next day is as pleasing as catching the fish... :D

My most comfortable spot would have to be sitting on the toilet, My favorite spot would be Lake Jocasse,SC in the summer on a sandy beach with 20 ft of clear blue water in the valley surrounded by rock and mountains. Lake Jocasse, SC. Oh did I mention the big brown trout and the rainbows there must be millions of them.

I would have to say, freezing my nads off, cuddled up to my Chocolate Lab "Sable" and hanging with my son in a duck blind, with wings whistling over right before sun up and hearing "splash, spash, splash..." out in your decoy spread.

Next best would be watching the world wake up with a bow in your hand during archery season.

Then......................
