Perhaps my viewpoints are a bit different then most........ There are some instances where I have ZERO tolerance and no sense of humor.
I have zero tolerance for anyone who strikes a woman out of anything other than pure self defense........ if I witness it I will become judge, jury and deal out some pretty quick punishment.
ANY crime involving a child ......... once again ZERO tolerance and here again I will deal out some quick punishment.
Drunk driver's have no reason at all to be on a road. We have too many fail safes in place, too many cell phones and once again it is not safe for other's. I will never complain about a DUI/DWI check because I will not commit that crime.
One of my favorite web sites is CrimeReports.com where you can actually see where crimes and traffic stops are committed and as a bonus it even shows who and where the sex offender's live (complete with photos)......... I challenge people to check their neighborhood!
Bubba..... perhaps you can look at the area where the incident happened and see if allot of crimes happen there.
FYI in "most" traffic stops (not check points) the LEO has run the license plate and the dispatch has already informed the LEO who owns the car and if they have a record. That previous record can determine the LEO's approach and attitude during the traffic stop. LEO's are not unprepared and rarely surprised at a traffic stop........ that information is available before they exit the cruiser.
So..... if you have a record for DWI/DUI or ANY other crime and you are driving your car.... it is LEO knowledge for his/her safety. If people have had problems it is usually due to them having a record with law enforcement.
