Blue - What is the foreign, natural substance on the sawhorse? It isn't metallic and full of ribets, totally out of character for you. :D

While socializing around the neighbor's campfire, a small space heater was warming the the hanger to cozy 72 degrees while getting the prime-coat to a tacky consistency.

epoxy/cabosil mixed to a heinz consistency:

the 809 spreader...depth correlates with consistency:

epoxy/cabosil applied:

lightly / uniformly clamped:

by the numbers:
priming: 3oz (+1oz harder)
thickened mix: 12oz (4oz hardener)

That's 15oz of epoxy...from a $128 / 2gallon kit. Now by my math, that's $7.50 in epoxy and < $1 in cabosil.

Have a great weekend guys!

Thanks for stoppin' by! :yo:

It's amazing what one can accomplish when socializing around the campfire.....not to mention the creative thinking that also occurs. Nice progress!

USD or CAD pricing? The shipping will kill you. LOL

Stick with wood, Blue. Besides, what you did will last almost as long. :D

Crazy pricing, but that would be a hunk of aluminum..... That place has a distribution warehouse like 10 miles from my house but won't let me pickup from there, they insist on charging me shipping. I just bought a couple of pieces 10' long and they wanted $170 for shipping the 10miles

Yep, that's what I came-up with...that would buy ALOT of 3/4" marine-grade PLY!

No doubt Willie...stumbled into the hanger last night, and it had the perfect amount of tack... Yes!

Thanks Ga! Wood is good :D

...and there wouldn't be much profit margin on that flip would there? :)

that makes zero sense...unless they're skimming some of the shipping charges?

Hmm be interesting to see how much a big ole hunk of stainless would cost for that same transom. Probably about the same price as a new Etec, or Unobtainium

Stopped by to see if you had a pic of the twisted sister transom you led onto in astor's thread...

Murphy is certainly making the rounds. :mad-new:
