Hey all, I am new to the boating scene and need some help. A Glastron Carlson CV-16 (possibly an SS) has been sitting at my grandfathers shop for about roughly 20 some years. Last time it was registered was 1984. It was my dad's and unfortunately they have let it sit and get weathered away for years. Well they are going to help me fix it up and restore it as a Father, Son, and Grandfather project (They are lagging with getting the project started so I am going to take the leap and hope for the best) but I have no idea where to start, specifically finding some parts. Most of all it needs a new windshield BAD. If someone could please steer me in the right direction with some pointers it would be greatly appreciated Thanks!

The best place to start is to figure out what you are dealing with.

1. Is the deck (floor) solid?

2. Is the transom solid?

3. Damage?

Those three will give you a good idea of how deep you have to go.

Let us know.

Well the boat has been sitting outside for years without a cover so you could imagine that there is definitely damage. I will have to replace the floor and pretty much the total interior. There is quite a bit of cosmetic damage that will have to be fixed. Fixing the boat isn't my problem. Like I said my Dad and Grandfather are helping me out and they used to be in the boat business years and years ago they can repaint and fix all the little cracks and what not. I was just curious if maybe there was a specific place I could find parts, for example the windshield. Would someplace like craigslist work or is there any other website that might part out boats?

Go to www.carlsonspeed.com

it's a forum dedicated soleley to Glastron Carlsons. I have been restoring my Dads old CV21 for the past 2 years and that site has been a huge help. Good luck!
