Mounting fishfinder on Q5FS

Hi Guys! I have a 2011 Q5FS and love the boat. Its springtime in TN and I am ready for some fishing and lake time. I have never had a fish finder before, but was wanting to get one now. My problem is where to mount the head in the Q5. There isn't a lot of available space on the dash.

Are there any other Q4 or Q5 owners out there that have installed fish finders on their boats and if so, where did you mount the head? I am considering the small Humminbird 386 ci Combo unit just die to amount of space available. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I mounted a Humminbird 561 in my 2010 Q4ss. There wasn't any room to mount it to the dash area using just the mount that came with the unit. I picked up this at my local Gander Mountain and it works great!



RAM Mount - Humminbird 700/500/300/100 and Lowrance Elite/Mark under 10 lbs. - Gander Mountain

I haven't regretted my location near off to the left of the wheel, like Q4-stan, love it close at hand!

I can't find the thread. Did you mount on side by walk thru?
that's what I'm thinking of doing.
