I have a MOTOR-GUIDE BRUT HYPER. I'm missing speeds 1 & 2 on both the 12 & 24v side. I do have speeds 3, 4, and 5.. Speeds 3 & 4 are the same speeds with no change on both sides (12&24v). Any ideas...
Some motors use "speed coils" which are wire-wound resistors to reduce the voltage to the motor to control speeds. These coils are wired in series/parallel combinations to keep the number of coils required to a minimum. These coils can open up thus preventing that speed from operating or to cause no difference between certain speeds. The repair is to replace the speed coils.
