Re: Motorcycles

Had dozens on the farm. My favorite was my ol' 1975 Kawasaki 75. One of them mini bikes, a 2-stroke. My Dad sold it when I went to college. I'd give anything to have that bike back, as much for sentimental reasons as any other.

Most of our bikes were Honda Trail 70, 90 or 110. Having an auto clutch was crucial to getting farm work done, had to carry shovels, siphon tubes, etc.

Re: Motorcycles

Gaugeguy you and I shared some of the same dirt. I had a 750 Seca back in the 80's. I enjoyed riding that bike. Put about 35,000 miles on it.

Hey EF, that was a sweet riding bike. I didn't get nearly as many miles on it as you did, but I did put almost 25K on it. I bought mine new in '86.

Re: Motorcycles

Yeah, it was a fine riding machine. Mine had 2200 miles on when I got it in '83. My best friend that always rode with me bought one just like the one I had about 5 years ago. He let me take it for a spin. Sure brought back some memories. All the bike he ever had were Gorrilla bikes. You know the type "Ugly but Tough" ! ! !

1970 Triumph Bonneville. Yuk!. I got laughed at, in Europe. They were all driving Honda 750 4 bangers. Had many problems with the bike. I dumped it as soon as I brought it back.

Still have a Honda XLS 250 enduro. I bought it new in 1981. It currently has 750 miles on it.

Re: Motorcycles

Only ever owned one bike, honda XR75 K1 4 speed (1972). Bought 2 years old when I was 12 for $180.00 (lawn mowing money). As I grew it became too small for me so dad put it in the shed (around 1979). Jump forward to 2003 and I'm cleaning the shed out and found the honda, advertised in 'trading post'(newspaper version of e-bay) expecting a couple of hundred if I'm lucky.

75 people answered my add in the first day, the first guy who came to look at it offered $2500.00. He didn't even start it up - to my pleasant surprise (more like shock) the XR75 had become a collectors item, not the 5 speed, only the early 4 speed. Wish I'd bought a few more back in 1974.

Aldo
