I have a 1987 evinrude 28hp motor.I have replaced the battery and solenoid. It will start by jumping the solenoid with a wire, would i need a new ignition to fix this problem?
Hi,
There is a neutral interloc switch on the shift sys and or a switch on the stator plate
that when you have the gas advanced to far or the shift not centered it cuts out the solenoid.Check those out. They may also have one in the control box for neutral start.
Hope this helps...corm
