Here are some photos i hope you can help me narrow this down and how would i go and get a water pick up pump with the drive serial number correct?

it probably is because i took them with my laptop but the ones i take with my phone are too big. :'(

Looks like there is no fuel line to the carb first off. !!! Second, the throttle linkages are not hooked up. Third, looks like the wire for the shift interrupt is not hooked up.

Thans idk about boats that's why I'm trying too learn a bit but I think I may bring it too a mechanic.

Ayuh,.... Try spendin' a few hours, or maybe days in Don'S Adults Only section,....

In there, dig up the factory manual for yer motor, 'n look that over,...

It appears yer motor is missin' alota pieces....

When was the last time it ran,..??

I'm not sure when the last time it ran but from the previous owner he said he rebuilt the motor last year....so I'm guessing atleast a year. But I got it for 250 which the outdrive and motor costs more..so if it needs little things I'm ok with that lol but there is a lot of things that are disconnected and idk what they go to so hopefully I can read and figure it out

Does the starter turn the motor over with the key,..??

If so, a compression test would be useful,...

Did ya go to the Adults Only section, 'n download the manual for yer motor,..??
If so, put the wirin' back in place, clean up the points, 'n see if ya got Spark,...

Then on to the carb, it's missin' some parts too,...

Btw,.... Where in NY,... NY is a Big place,...

Ok it might just my OCD kicking in but the pictures were driving me crazy. Let's work from these. And yes draining the block and manifold is pretty easy and a real good idea. In the winter I make it a habit of opening my drains up when I am done messin with the boat even if I plan on getting right back to it the next day.

In the 3rd pic from BahamaBarnBoat's pics, looks to me like the valve cover is not bolted down either. If so then EVERYTHING about this engine needs to be looked at by a mechanic or rebuilder familiar with the MerCruiser 3.0 engine and driveline.

In total agreement with Maclin. There is too much to list even in the limited views that can be seen in the pictures. Here are a couple of the most obvious issues.

your right it isn't bolted down but i need to find the right size bolts and bolt it down the motor will turn but won't start if i hit it with a screw driver but from the key there is nothing but the horn works so its getting power from the battery just need to figure out that issue after i get the motor all squared away.

Kj open the attachments in my last post. I made some notes on the pictures. In addition to the notes on the pictures if I am not mistaken that tangle of wires on top of the valve cover is your primary ignition wiring. I think what I am seeing is a resistor. Any how Fuel + Compression + Spark = :laugh: Fire, Bang, Run You have No Fuel, Maybe Compression, Improbable Spark.
