Motor stringers

Would it be ok to strip the delaminated skin from these motor mount stringers . But still leave them attached at bottom and retab them . Or do I need to completely cover them like they were . They are solid .

the fiberglass cracked because your stringers are wet and the water froze, compromising the wood and busting the fiberglass.

I bet you find similar issues with your transom and the flotation boxes.

Yes transom needs replacement which I am doing now . Someone has done work before and I think they replaced the wood core of motor mount stringers then glasses back over top . Wood is solid 2 inch piece of hardwood.

looking at the pics, looks like original glass.

so I would simply gut it all down to the hull and re-build. you have a lot of grinding to do to get the new glass to tab in .
