My new (old) boat has had several different motors on it over the years. The current motor does not seem to be on the center line of the boat. Is this proper?

I have several different HP 'Rude motors (with and without tilt and trim) on hand to use with the boat and wonder if each motor will need to be put on the boat differently?

If this is the case, how can I find the appropriate installation locations for each motor?

Re: Motor location

The motor should be in the center. Now the cavation plate on the lower unit of the motor should be at or just above the bottom of the boat. That adjustment can and will need to be fine tune for the way the boat runs and load you have aboard.
