A related question. When did Johnnyrude change over from Permatex #1 for block assembly which is hard drying, to Permatex #3 which is non-hardening? My '58 Fat Fifty used Permatex #1.

Epoxied Together? What is epoxied?

The powerhead chassis components have some kind of epoxy or sealant on the gaskets. Makes them pretty hard to pull apart.

As Chris said, OMC used to use a hardening Sealer, but it wasn't Epoxy. I preferred to the later Goo that ran everywhere
