Model name of 15 ft Runabout?

I’m crazy. But I’m retired and can be.
I’m a current owner of an 1988 Islander 26 that I restored a few years back. I use it on Lake Michigan.
Additionally, I still own a 1976 Islander 22 that I restored about 9 years ago.
I use that on small lakes here in NC during fall and winter.
Now I’m looking for some kind of 15ft Starcraft runabout for my wife to play with and go out on the lake with her girlfriends.
Don’t know much about the smaller boat models.
Thought that I would start here on the forum, which has always been incredibly helpful, to see if I can determine what model I’m looking for...
Not really looking to do another resto...
and I understand that restored Starcraft owners are very proud of their work...

But you're likely going to find projects or high priced completed rehabs. Watch out for poorly done re-muddling and finished rehabs that dont have extensive pix of their work.

Also, Iboats forums doesnt have a for sale, trade or swap section.

Word of mouth helps find prospects too

I was looking for information on what model I should be concentrating on.
I have seen pictures of open bow walk through and center counsel units , etc.
hoping to have someone steer me to where I can view the different models in the 15-16 ft range. What to look for in those models and more importantly what to look out for

If you want the 15’ range, then its easy to find a 16’ supersport from many different years and for a low price. A lot will need work but with what you have restored before those little boats should be easy. Not sure what to look out for as far as any issues may go, but the smaller boats seem to take less of a beating structurally than the larger ones due to size and weight. Would love to see some pics of those restored islanders!

My vote too is for a 16’ Super Sport. Can’t beat the open bow lounging.

if I had my time back, I would have held out for an 18’ outboard SS.
the 15’ closed bow Jupiter’s are nice but quite small IMO.
If you want closed bow, the holidays are nice and available in varying lengths. Might start at 18’ though(??)

The 18 SS would also be a great candidate. A little more room and provides more options for used boats.

A ton will require work yet with what you have reestablished before those little boats ought to be simple. Not certain what to pay special mind to the extent any issues may go, however the more modest boats appear to take to a lesser degree a beating basically than the bigger ones because of size and weight.

What are your wife's boat handling capabilities? Both on the water and on the trailer? How many friends do you envision her taking out? How portable does it have to be, ie: do you live on a piece of water? How much motor can she handle?

The SS 16 is a good option and is very common And there is a SS 15 version that is a bit smaller and very cute. And of course the closed bow versions but (here) they tend to be older.

It will be the rare boat that won't need some wood replacement. How much work are you willing to put in?

And pics, show us what you are thinking and what you get.

This is my 1968 15' Starcraft Bahama fiberglass. Mint condition and a fun boat for 2-3 people.
