I just bought a used sea ox with a set of steering cables that are probably off a yamaha(i am assuming since that is the key in the ignition. These cables only have threaded portions on the end of them and no fittings or anything. These cables also fit into the remote box but it looks like they should have an end on them or something. My question is this. I have an 83 Mariner 80hp and use a certain cable. While I was looking these cables looked like the universal cable but i cannot find any ends to the cable that will screw on to the threaded end and fit my mariner. Do they make ends for specific motor applications that will fit a universal cable? I know, clear as mud right> let me know if you don't understand and I will try and clear it up.

basically, I need a cable with the the end on the left to connect to the motor and the end on the right to connect to the control box but with something like a terminal lug on the end of it to go over a stud

You need a Teleflex CA27373P to convert 3300 cables to merc ends.....

Does it matter that it says it is an inboard kit and I have an outboard?

I just caught that too. Sorry, but glad you caught and fixed it for me. I had that problem when searching for stuff on google too and would wonder why I was not getting the answers I wanted. For some reason my fingers just typed steering. I know its not steering cables but for some reason just keep refering to them as such.

what is the difference in the CA27373P and the CA27319P? They look almost identical..
